Our volunteers are an essential part of the Yachay Wasi community. We have partnerships with: ENGIM Internazionale NGO, Sensacional NGO, Pitzer College (a university in California), and The Institute for Ecuadorian Studies with the program for north-american students Hecua.

Volunteer Work


  • Cultivate native and organic plants and seeds, and work with permaculture in general.

  • Teach art

  • Teach natural science and social study

  • Teach english

  • Lead cooperative games and group activities with students

  • Help students with learning difficulties

Yachay Wasi looks for people with open minds, caring and self motivated, people that can work with different methods of learning and teaching and can appreciate the local knowledges of each community. We teach in Spanish and provide Kichwa and English classes.
